In the interest of Public Health, the Auburn complex will be temporarily closed for public hire

until further notice.

 

Berala Carramar Hardcourt Tennis Association -Committee

 

Due to NSW Gov. Restrictions issued on 26 June, cancelling all community sport events, the committee has deferred semi- finals

set down for 26 June. Semis will be re-scheduled when State Gov. restrictions allow.

COVID Tracing Mandatory Sign in for all attendees at Auburn Tennis Centre

·        QR code at gate and at various spots around centre. Mandatory sign-in by all attendees.

·        Keep 1.5m from others who are not related. Obey numbers in sheds (4 sq m rule)

·        Play to start at 1pm sharp. 5 min hit-ups only. Finish by 10 min after sunset. No new set to start at sunset time.

·        Points shared for wet matches. Tie-break at 5 games all (first to 7- no advantage)

·        Golden Point” will be played on second deuce. Receiver chooses side. In mixed sets – lady serves to lady, man to man. 

·        “Play and Go Procedurein force for all competitions-arrive on time and leave promptly. Covid QR code sign-in mandatory.

·        Semis: 1st v 4th, 2nd v 3rd   TBA (venues TBA) may need to play under lights Finals: TBA at Auburn

Covid-19 Safety Precautions:

·        Light refreshments to be provided by home team (individually wrapped preferable, avoid communal serving items)

Bring your own mug if desired.

·        Wash/sanitize hands before and after each set, no hand shaking, keep 1.5m from other players

 

Bye-law change (1/7/18): “In extreme circumstances only and with permission from

Committee and player’s team captain, a player may play against his/her own team”

Court Etiquette

Do not hit back obvious faults, let them go to ground.

Make prompt line calls on your side of the court. If unsure of call, the point belongs to opponent.

Strictly no swearing, racquet throwing (serious safety issue), sledging, intimidation or

discarding of a ball to court surface during play, this constitutes a visible distraction.

It is strictly against the rules to infer or call your opponent a “cheat”.

Foot Faults

Please be mindful of foot faults when serving. It is your responsibility to make sure that your

 foot does not touch or go over the line before the ball is struck.

Results

Please fill in score cards correctly and legibly. Full names of all players (at least once then

first names are ok thereafter. Also details of new players and pool players must be provided

on back of result card. You may send a photo or scan of result card.

Additional players registered in your team need to be accepted in your grade by the

committee, so details of past performance information is essential on back of result card.

Start and Finish

Teams are required to enter the court at 1pm, have a 5 min hit-up and then commence the

match. If a lady and gent are present from a team, they must commence the first set even if

 they are not the intended pairing. If a team does not have a pair on the court by 1.05pm

 then the late team / player shall forfeit the hit-up time in the first set. If a team does not

 have a pair on the court by 1.15pm then the late team shall forfeit the first set. Unless both

 captains agree to cease play due to failing light, then play must continue for 10 minutes after

 sunset time (or 6pm as appropriate). Any game in progress at that time is to be completed.

The committee has been considering the effect of the coronavirus on our competition groups, and want to let all players know what policies we have adopted. Everything is, of course, subject to change and also subject to any Government or Tennis NSW directions which require us to act differently.

We will continue to offer competitions, but request that you abide by the Tennis NSW Guidelines for Continued Play and by our Committee requests in order to reduce any risk.
